A head spa bed is a reclining treatment bed with a wash basin built in, made for the Japanese head spa ritual. Most salons choose between a 2-in-1 table from $1,990 excl. VAT and a bed with foot bath from $2,790 excl. VAT, both fed by the salon’s own water line. This guide covers types, prices and checks.
What is the difference between a head spa bed, a table, a chair and a basin?
People type “head spa bed” and mean four different things. All four hold the client’s head in a basin under a water arch, but they differ in what surrounds the basin, what else the station can do and what it costs.
| Type | What it is | Foot bath and electric functions | Price range excl. VAT | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Table (2-in-1) | Wash basin plus a flat treatment table. A padded lid closes the basin so the same table serves massage and facials. | No foot bath, no electric adjustment | $1,990 to $2,790 | Most salons, a first station, rooms shared with facials or massage |
| Bed | Reclining massage bed with the basin built in. | Foot bath and electric backrest | $2,790 to $5,790 | Spas and salons selling the full ritual as a premium hour |
| Chair | Salon chair with a head spa arch. The electric backrest reclines fully flat. | Electric backrest or built-in massage mattress | $4,490 to $5,690 | Salons that want the ritual in a chair footprint |
| Portable basin | Tank-fed basin on wheels. You provide the bed or table. | Light therapy built in, no plumbing, no foot bath | $2,290 | Mobile therapists and rooms without a water line |
Within the tables and beds, the step from one model to the next is mainly basin material (acrylic or ceramic) and frame finish (metal, wood accents or an upholstered base). The jump from table to bed adds the foot bath and the electric backrest. You can browse all of them in the head spa beds and tables category.
What matters when choosing a head spa bed?
Eight things decide whether a head spa bed will still be earning its floor space in five years. Most of them can be checked before you pay.
Basin material
Acrylic basins are lighter and keep the price at entry level; the Sora head spa table at $1,990 excl. VAT uses one, and so do the Rindo, Yawara and Kogane beds. Ceramic basins feel more solid under the hand and are the material on every other table, starting with the Komorebi at $2,190 excl. VAT. Whichever you choose, avoid thin plastic.
Direct water line or an internal pump
Every Headspastore unit except the portable Nagisa connects to your cold and hot water supply and a drain, and works at mains pressure. There is no pump and no water heater inside the unit, so there are no electronics in the water path to fail. If a unit you are comparing pumps and heats its own water, ask who services those parts and what that costs.
Foot bath
A hydrotherapy foot bath turns the station into a 3-in-1: basin, table and foot bath in one piece. It is the main reason the Rindo head spa bed at $2,790 excl. VAT is our bestseller. Tables do not have one, so if the foot bath is part of the ritual you want to sell, you need a bed.
Electric functions
Tables have no electric adjustment. Beds add an electric backrest, and the Kogane adds electric height adjustment on top. The Yawara and Reira take a different route: a massage mattress built in, without electric adjustment. Choose what your therapists will actually use.
Footprint
Every table and bed arrives in a crate of roughly 210 x 80 x 100 cm on a pallet, which gives a feel for the floor space. Measure the room with the therapist’s stool at the head end and space to walk around both sides. If the room is tight, the Kohaku and Ayame chairs put the ritual into a salon chair footprint, with an electric backrest that reclines fully flat.
Finishes
Each unit comes in one upholstery colour of your choice from 42 vegan-leather finishes; the Nagisa basin offers 2. Choose the colour that matches the room you already have rather than the one in the product photo.
Warranty and spare parts
Ask how long the warranty lasts and who ships the parts. Headspastore units carry a 2-year warranty on normal use, and spare parts are shipped from the factory. The conditions are on the delivery and warranty page.
Import duties
A price that excludes duties can grow by a surprise invoice from the carrier before the pallet is released. Delivery to your door costs $199 per unit with import duties included, so the amount in the cart is the amount you pay.
How much does a head spa bed cost?
All prices are in EUR excl. VAT. EU businesses with a valid VAT number pay 0% VAT under the reverse charge; outside the EU no Belgian VAT applies.
| Type | Entry model | Top model | Price range excl. VAT |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tables (8 models) | Sora, $1,990 | Aoi, $2,790 | $1,990 to $2,790 |

Every price includes the unit, a headrest, the water arch, the steam unit with hood, LED colour light therapy in the basin and the correct plug for your country. Delivery to the door is $199 per unit, import duties included. A practitioner stool is not included. Tables and the Rindo, Towa, Akatsuki and Kogane beds also include the padded lid that turns the basin into a flat treatment table.

All models with dimensions and water connections are in the catalogue PDF. Projects of 3 or more units get a project quote.
What plumbing does a head spa bed need?
Installation and the water connection are done by you. A plumber is the comfortable route; a handy person can do it. Have this ready before the pallet arrives:
- A cold and a hot water supply at the head end of the station
- A drain for the waste water
- Mains water pressure, because the unit has no pump of its own
- A power socket; every unit runs on 110 to 240 V and comes with the right plug for your country
- Floor space for the unit, the therapist’s stool and the client’s walk-in
- A floor that carries the unit plus a client of up to 200 kg
- A route from the street to the room for a crate of roughly 210 x 80 x 100 cm and 120 to 200 kg depending on model; delivery is to the door and the unit is not carried inside
The catalogue shows the water connection points per model, so your plumber can prepare the room while the unit is being built.
How long does it take from order to first treatment?
Plan for 8 to 10 weeks from payment to delivery, plus the time your plumber needs. In steps:
- Order and payment. Payment is 100% upfront by card, Klarna or bank transfer. You choose one of the 42 finishes.
- 48 hours to change your mind. Free cancellation within 48 hours of payment, before the factory order goes in. After that the unit is built to your order and cannot be changed, cancelled or returned.
- Production, about 7 days. Your unit is made to order by our factory partner in the chosen finish.
- Transport, 28 to 35 days. You receive the tracking number when it ships.
- Delivery. The carrier contacts you to schedule a date and delivers the crate to your door on a pallet.
- Installation and first client. Your plumber connects the water and drain, you plug it in, and the first ritual can be booked.
Use the waiting weeks to prepare the room, write the menu and take the first bookings. The ritual itself, step by step, is on our why a head spa page.
